Stringy Privacy Policy

Welcome to Stringy! We built this app to help players track string tension and connect with their local stringers. We strongly believe in data minimization. Here is a plain-English breakdown of what we collect and why.
1. Your Digital Racketbag (Local Storage)
By default, the information about your rackets, string setups, and tension history is stored locally on your device. We do not hold a master copy of your racketbag on our servers unless you explicitly activate the "Cloud Sync & Backup" feature (by generating a Bag ID).
2. Player Accounts & Firebase Authentication
Players are not required to create usernames or passwords. Instead, the app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This generates a secure, faceless token on your device allowing you to communicate securely with stringers without providing personal credentials.
3. Ordering Restrings
If you choose to link to a Stringer and submit an order through the app, the name, phone number, and email you type into the order form are transmitted directly to your stringer's private database. This data is only visible to the stringer you selected so they can contact you when your racket is ready.
4. Stringer Profiles & Dashboards
Users who register a business ("Stringer Mode") must provide a valid email and secure PIN. This creates a secure Firebase Authentication profile. Stringers retain full control over their own Customer Relationship Management (CRM) ledger and inventory data. Stringers can delete their accounts entirely from the Settings menu.
5. Microphone/Camera Usage
To calculate tension, Stringy requests access to your device's microphone. The microphone only records short bursts of audio to measure the acoustic frequency (Hz) of your stringbed. We do not save, store, upload, or transmit these audio recordings anywhere. All mathematical processing happens directly on your device. Camera usage is requested ONLY in the event of adding string stock as a stringer on the stringer side workspace for purposes of barcode scanning.
6. Anonymous Telemetry & Analytics
If you opt-in to "Share Anonymous Data" in your Player Profile, Stringy will send an anonymous data packet to our global database when your strings break. This helps us map real-world string durability across strings and improve Stringy’s accuracy going forward. This payload is completely stripped of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). It only includes:
- Racket Make & Model
- String Make & Model
- The time it lasted and the hours played
- The anonymous Hz degradation curve
No names, tracking IDs, or precise geolocation data are included in this upload.
7. RevenueCat & Subscriptions
We use RevenueCat to manage "Stringy Pro" and "Stringer Tier" subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may process anonymized app-user IDs and purchase receipts to validate subscriptions across Apple and Google Play stores. We do not have access to your credit card or billing information.
8. Account Deletion
You can wipe all data, unlink devices, and permanently delete your Firebase account at any time using the "Delete Account" buttons found in both the Player Profile and Stringer Settings menus. Note: Deleting your account does not cancel active Apple/Google subscriptions, which must be managed in your phone's native settings.
